March 9 Democratic Debate Will Air on 3 Networks

By Chris Ariens Comment

Univision News announced today that its upcoming debate, co-sponsored by The Washington Post, will air live on Univision in Spanish and simulcast in English on both CNN and Fusion, a network it co-owns with ABC. Univision’s Maria Elena Salinas and Jorge Ramos (pictured with Pres. Obama during a 2012 town hall) and The Washington Post’s Karen Tumulty will moderate.

The DNC-sanctioned debate is Wednesday, March 9 at 9 p.m. ET, at Miami Dade College’s Kendall Campus.

CNN paid a licensing fee to PBS to air the Feb. 11 Democratic Debate. At the time, PBS said the fee would allow the network to break-even on the production cost of the debate which was held in Milwaukee. We’ve reached out to CNN to see what the licensing arrangement is this time. We’ll update when we hear back.

The next debate is this Thursday as the GOP candidates face off for the 11th time, the 3rd time on Fox News. Then, over a period of 5 days next week, CNN will carry three debates. The list below, in the ranker.
