Making Way for Michael Strahan

By Chris Ariens

The rumor-mill is churning at Good Morning America as the ABC morning show makes way for a permanent spot for Michael Strahan following his departure from Live last month. With seemingly conflicting sources, Page Six reports Strahan’s arrival may mean changes for other anchors most notably George Stephanopoulos and Lara Spencer.

“There is no truth to this,” a GMA spokesperson told Page Six. “Of course George will be focused on politics, and no one is being groomed to take his place. Lara isn’t going anywhere, and Amy [Robach] will have the same important role on the show as she has for the past three years.”

Strahan has been appearing on GMA a couple times a week this summer, and will be a regular fixture come September. Strahan will also be keeping his Fox NFL Sunday gig which will continue into February as Fox will be the home of Super Bowl LI.
