Look For More Erin Andrews on Good Morning America

ESPN reporter (and former “Dancing with the Stars” contestant) Erin Andrews has signed a new deal with the sports cable network. As part of the agreement, Andrews will become a regular contributor to “Good Morning America” on ESPN sister network ABC.

USA Today‘s Michael Hiestand spoke to Andrews, who told him that her “GMA” reports will not be solely sports-focused:

“Some will be fun and light-hearted,” she says. “I don’t take myself too seriously and like to have a good time.” But having been a victim of stalking, which resulted in a videotape surfacing online a year ago, she also wants to report on crimes against women: “With what I’ve been through, I want to talk to women who are victims. … And people haven’t seen I can have a serious tone. We feel it’s important to start off with serious issues so people take me seriously.”

“GMA” co-anchor Robin Roberts got her start at ESPN as well, before becoming a contributor and eventually anchor at the morning show.
