CNN’s Frank Sesno made a couple of important points on Thursday’s Showbiz Tonight: “This is what terrorists want. They want to conduct operations that will then be conveyed through the media and that will be direct and threatening and terrorizing, quite literally, to not just the people where the incident takes place, but to as broad an audience as possible.”
More: “Terrorists use the media deliberately. They depend upon the magnifying glass to convey to their followers that they have struck, to convey to the public that they’re capable of inflicting terror, to convey to other governments that they’re still around and are meant to be dealt with.”
