Levine Upped at ABC News

Just days after becoming a mom (again) ABC’s Cathie Levine got some more good news today. She was promoted to VP of Communications for the news division. She continues to report to senior VP Jeffrey Schneider.

Levine joined ABC News in 2001 as the publicist for World News Tonight. In December 2005, she was promoted to Executive Director of Media Relations for the division.

CATHIE LEVINE PROMOTED TO
VICE PRESIDENT, COMMUNICATIONS, ABC NEWS

Cathie Levine has been promoted to Vice President of Communications for ABC News, it was announced today by Jeffrey Schneider, Senior Vice President of Communications for ABC News, to whom she reports.

“Cathie has impeccable judgment and is a world class communicator. Her advice and guidance are tremendous assets to the entire news division and to me,” Mr. Schneider said.

Together with Mr. Schneider, Ms. Levine will help to oversee News Communications for the Disney-ABC Television Group. This includes the communication strategies and campaigns for all ABC News broadcasts, including World News with Charles Gibson, Good Morning America, Nightline, Primetime, 20/20, This Week with George Stephanopoulos, World News Now, America This Morning, and World News Saturday & Sunday. In addition Ms. Levine helps to oversee communications for ABC’s affiliate news service, NewsOne, ABC News Radio, ABC News Productions, ABCNEWS.com and ABC News NOW, an innovative 24-hour news network offering original content across online, cable and mobile platforms.

Ms. Levine joined ABC News in 2001 as the publicist for World News Tonight, overseeing the broadcast’s day-to-day and long-term communications strategy. In December 2005, she was promoted to Executive Director of Media Relations for ABC News.
