Lauren Kapp Now VP, NBC News Comm

Lauren Kapp, formerly Senior Director, was named the Vice President of NBC News Communications today in an announcement from EVP Allison Gollust and NBC News President Steve Capus. Capus said, “Lauren has earned the trust and respect of people from every division of NBC News and from those who cover us across the media landscape. A true professional with great integrity and a strategic thinker, Lauren will be a valuable asset to me.”

Kapp’s duties will now include acting as Capus’ chief spokesperson and managing the news division’s communication strategy, which includes “Today,” “Nightly News with Brian Williams,” “Dateline,” and “Meet the Press.” She’ll also be responsible for internal communications.

Previously, Kapp oversaw publicity for “Nightly News with Brian Williams” and NBC News specials. She has worked in NBC News’ press department since 2002. Prior to that she was at ABC News.
