Last Week’s Evening Newscast Ratings

NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams was the nation’s most-watched network evening newscast last wee. The broadcast “has now placed first for 44 straight weeks and for 109 of the last 115 weeks,” NBC’s press release says. (Because of a ratings error by Nielsen two weeks ago, the 44-week streak is continuing.)

Meanwhile, ABC beat NBC by 20,000 viewers in the 25-54 demographic — a tie, in NBC’s language. “This marks the eighth time in ten weeks that World News Tonight has outperformed or tied NBC Nightly News among key demo viewers,” ABC’s press release says. “A year ago Nightly News was 370,000 Adults 25-54 viewers ahead of World News Tonight.”

Here are the raw numbers, in total viewers and the demo:

NBC: 8,640,000 / 2.3/10

ABC: 8,550,000 / 2.3/9

CBS: 6,600,000 / 1.7/7
