NBC News White House Correspondent Kristen Welker married John Hughes last night at the Hyatt at The Bellevue in her hometown of Philadelphia. Hughes is a Pennsylvania-based Director of Marketing at Merck.
Local blog Philly Chitchat reports that guests included NBC’ers Chuck Todd, Andrea Mitchell, Kelly O’Donnell, and Chris Jansing along with CNBC’s Aditi Roy and Comcast exec David Cohen. FNC’s Ed Henry also attended, tweeting out a photo last night of the happy couple.
Welker and Hughes have been engaged since June of last year, when Hughes proposed in Washington, D.C. near the Lincoln Memorial. Just recently, Welker shared a photo via Instagram with Hughes after the two obtained their marriage license at Philadelphia’s City Hall, accompanied by the hashtag #itsgonnabehughes.
