Kellyanne Conway ‘Has Been Counseled’ About Ivanka Trump Sales Pitch on Fox & Friends

White House press secretary Sean Spicer says counselor to Pres. Trump Kellyanne Conway “has been counseled” following her remarks on Fox & Friends this morning in which she encouraged viewers to buy clothing from first daughter Ivanka Trump‘s fashion line.

“Go buy Ivanka’s stuff, is what I would tell you,” Conway said on Fox & Friends this morning in a live interview from the White House press briefing room. “I hate shopping, but I’m gonna go get some myself today.”

Ethics experts pounced saying that Conway’s comments were an ethical violation.

At today’s briefing, the second question went to Fox News’s John Roberts who asked about the issue: “Do you believe she crossed an ethical line?” Roberts asked.

“Kellyanne has been counseled…and that’s all we’re going to go with,” said Spicer, adding, “She’s been counseled on that subject…and that’s it.”

And there’s a pattern here. In the Fox & Friends segment from this morning, below, Conway was also asked about Sean Spicer’s job. While this afternoon, Spicer was forced to respond to questions about Conway’s.

Conway will be back on Fox News tonight as a guest on Martha MacCallum‘s show the First 100 Days at 7 p.m. ET.
