Katrina: Kudos To Tony Zumbado

NBC News photojournalist Tony Zumbado has recorded incredible, heartbreaking images from New Orleans today. People at the Convention Center pleaded with Zumbado to send help. On MSNBC this afternoon, Zumbado said he saw babies die right in front of his eyes. “It was unbelievable,” an e-mailer said.

The video will appear on tonight’s Nightly News, and it will air in full on MSNBC’s Countdown with Keith Olbermann. “They are transcendant images and comments from Americans who followed the rules and saw the system break down around them,” Olbermann says…

I’ve never seen anything in my life like this…I can’t put it into words the amount of destruction that is in this city and how these people are coping…”
