Katrina: CNN Cancels Sunday’s ‘On The Story’ For FEMA Press Conference

By Brian

CNN says: “Due to the scheduled FEMA press conference, which takes place at 10 a.m. daily, CNN will cancel tomorrow’s edition of On The Story. As the state of emergency continues to develop in the Gulf Coast region, we believe it is necessary to carry the FEMA press conference live for our viewers.”

Why didn’t CNN just move the program to a different time slot? The network put out a press release about the program yesterday. “For the first time since the deadly storm hit, CNN reporters will take a step back to recount the challenges they face and answer questions from a live audience,” it says. Perhaps CNN decided it is too early to make itself the story?
