A 21-year-old college student from Utah writes to TVNewser: “I’ve never watched an evening newscast regularly, more like very rarely.

But the change of pace and overall feel of Couric’s broadcast feels like it is fit to my needs, unlike the ABC/NBC broadcasts. I think the new format takes into consideration that I most likely have already seen all of the headlines and focuses on the more interesting ones without being stuffy. I really felt like the third night broadcast got it right, a little faster pace, but still a good emphasis on a few key stories without feeling like a bunch of fluff.

Not to mention, they even got me to visit cbsnews.com; that’s a big feat to change my cnn.com habit. Maybe it will continue to grow on me? I guess time will tell. But I’ve at least added the show to my Tivo schedule, a first for a news program of any kind really (well since CNN became way over the top recently).”
