June 25 Is ‘Bourdain Day’

By A.J. Katz

Although the anniversary of Anthony Bourdain‘s tragic death is June 8, June 25 is being celebrated as “Bourdain Day.” The iconic, world-renowned chefs (and longtime friends of Bourdain) Jose Andrés and Eric Ripert made a Instagram video last month, in which Ripert declared June a “very important month.”

Fans and friends are encouraged to share more of their beloved memories when it comes to the CNN Parts Unknown host, using the hashtag #BourdainDay.

Andres and Ripert also announced that they’re using Bourdain Day (which just so happens to be Bourdain’s birthday) announce the establishment of the Culinary Institute of America’s “Anthony Bourdain Legacy Scholarship,” which is for culinary students studying abroad “or taking part in one of the CIA’s global cuisines & cultures international programs… & ultimately the Opportunity to follow Anthony’s global path of Discovery & curiosity.”

In 2018, the most-read digital story across the internet was CNN’s Anthony Bourdain obituary and tribute.
