“When Fox correspondent Steve Centanni and cameraman Olaf Wiig were held for nearly two weeks” in Gaza, “both voiced concern it would put a damper on Western news operations in the territory,” Variety reports.

“Now, their concerns appear to have been realized as journalists working in the region say they’ve received new threats from copycat groups, and gunmen have made the rounds to hotels frequented by journalists, threatening to take hostages if any are allowed to check in. Since the release of Centanni and Wiig, the only Western TV journalist to return is from the BBC.”
