Josh Elliott On His ‘GMA’ Replacement: ‘A Phenomenal Journalist and a Brilliant Woman’

By Chris Ariens

ElliottRobachJosh Elliott has nothing but good things to say about the person who has taken over his duties on “Good Morning America.” “She’s one of my very favorite people,” Elliott says of Amy Robach.

Robach joined ABC from NBC in 2012. (Elliott is making the reverse move.) “She arrived to ABC at a very difficult time for all involved,” Elliot says. Robach joined the network as a New York-based correspondent, but quickly became part of the fabric of “GMA” when, a few weeks in, Robin Roberts announced she was undergoing a bone marrow transplant after contracting MDS, a rare blood disorder. Robach often filled in for Roberts.

“Amy was really thrust into a virtually impossible situation,” Elliott says. “Every single day that I got to work with her I was a little more amazed. Amy is phenomenal journalist and brilliant woman.”
