“The Daily Show” host Jon Stewart had a message for his core audience last night: give Trevor Noah a chance. Noah, the relative unknown named Stewart’s replacement, has been subjected to a Twitter-led vivisection over a series of tweets seen as sexist and even anti-Semitic.
Stewart defended Noah, and urged his audience to be patient. “He is an incredibly thoughtful and considerate and funny and smart individual, and man, I think, you give him that time, and it’s going to be well worth it.”
