Newt Gingrich, who has put the media in his crosshairs throughout his campaign for the GOP nomination, has taken a hit for his claims about the coverage of his second ex-wife’s “open marriage” allegation, revealed by ABC last week.
At the start of last week’s GOP debate on CNN, Gingrich told moderator John King “we offered several” personal friends to ABC News to “prove it was false.”
ABC News insisted that wasn’t true.

As it turns out, the campaign only offered Gingrich’s daughters from his first marriage, whom ABC interviewed for their story. “The Gingrich campaign concedes, now, Gingrich was wrong,” King said on his show last night:
