At some point, John Gruden will return to the sidelines as a coach. It won’t be on New Year’s Day, however, as the Super Bowl-winning manager will call the Outback Bowl for ABC.
He’ll join partner Mike Tirico on the telecast.
“Mike Tirico and I love it, New Year’s Day, the Big Ten taking on the SEC at the Outback Bowl’s 25th anniversary game. One of the best bowl trips in the country and the Big Ten and SEC will get after each other,” Gruden told TampaBay.com. “Mike and I can’t wait to be a part of everything.”
For Gruden, it will be the first trip to Raymond James Stadium since he and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers parted ways after the 2009 season.
