Joe The Plumber Calls in to FBN and CBS

By Chris Ariens

The star of tonight’s debate was not Obama, or McCain or even Schieffer. It was Joe the plumber. Joe Wurzelbacher (shown at a recent Obama rally) is a plumber from Ohio. He was mentioned 15 times by Sen. McCain and 5 times by Sen. Obama. And about 10 minutes after the debate he was on the phone with Neil Cavuto on FBN and later with Katie Couric on CBS.

Cavuto: You are a pretty famous guy.
Joe: I don’t know about that. I am famous for 15 minutes then I will go away like everybody else.

Wurzlebacher said McCain “did a much better job” explaining his positions tonight than in previous debates. He doesn’t like Obama’s “share the wealth” tax plan. “You don’t redistribute my hard work,” he told Cavuto.

As for who he’s supporting, Joe told Couric he has an idea of who he’s voting for, but, “The nice thing about going into the booth, only me and the lever know.” Couric continued her conversation with Wurzlebacher on her CBSNews.com Webcast.

And you can bet there will be more interviews. Couric reported that three live trucks are currently parked outside his house in Holland, Ohio.
