MSNBC host Joe Scarborough said he is leaving the Republican party. Scarborough was elected to represent Florida’s 1st district four times between 1994 and 2000 and has remained a registered republican since.
During his appearance on the CBS’s Late Show with Stephen Colbert, alongside fiancée and co-host Mika Brzezinski, Scarborough talked about how the party has shifted since he left Congress more than 15 years ago.
Colbert asked, “But aren’t you a Republican?”
“Um. I am a republican. But I’m not going to be a republican anymore,” Scarborough said. WATCH:
