A pair of Joan Rivers specials drew more than 10 million viewers Friday night. NBC’s “Dateline” special at 9pmET was watched by 4.77 million viewers, while ABC’s “20/20” at 10pmET drew 5.34 million. “20/20” was the number one show of the night in the A18-49 demo, with a 1.0 rating/4 share. “Dateline” won its hour in viewers and tied with ABC’s “Shark Tank” in the demo (.9/3). Rivers died Thursday a week after going into cardiac arrest during an outpatient procedure.
At 8pm, the big four broadcasters, along with about 20 other cable networks, carried the one-hour Stand up to Cancer telethon. On ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC, the special was watched by a combined 8.8 million viewers.
