Jeff Corwin Is NBC/MSNBC’s New Wildlife & Science Expert

“Animal Planet” host and general environment expert Jeff Corwin has joined NBC News as NBC/MSNBC Wildlife & Science Expert, TVNewser has learned.

Corwin has been doing live reports from the Gulf Coast for MSNBC during daytime programming since Monday. An MSNBC spokesperson tells us Corwin started with the network this week and will be helping with coverage of the oil spill’s impact on the coastal region. He will be appearing across both MSNBC and NBC broadcasts.
Interestingly, Corwin had just been reporting as a CBS News Special Contributor from Mississippi on “The Early Show” in the beginning of May, just after the oil spill began. (Video here.)

Corwin created a documentary called “100 Heartbeats” for MSNBC in November as a part of the “Future Earth” series. At the time, he told TVNewser he hoped it would lead to more opportunities with the network.
