Fox News Channel has promoted Jay Wallace to VP of news and senior executive producer of news and politics. He had been VP of news editorial product since June, 2008.
The promotion makes Wallace (pictured to the right of Shepard Smith) the number two news executive at the channel after senior VP of news editorial Michael Clemente.
“Jay has proven himself to be a talented producer and respected leader within FNC,” said Clemente in a statement. “His consistent performance and experience will continue to be a valued asset to the network.”
In his new role Wallace will assist Clemente in management of the news division, and in his production role he will oversee special political programming in addition to the daily news responsibilities.
Wallace joined FNC in 1996 as a tape coordinator. In the years since has has also served as NY bureau chief, EP of “Fox Report with Shepard Smith” and EP of news.

FOX News Channel (FNC) has named Jay Wallace Vice President of News and Senior Executive Producer of News and Politics, announced Michael Clemente, Senior Vice President of News Editorial.
In making the announcement, Clemente said, “Jay has proven himself to be a talented producer and respected leader within FNC. His consistent performance and experience will continue to be a valued asset to the network.”
As Vice President of News, Wallace will assist in overseeing the strategic planning and managing of the news division. In his position as Senior Executive Producer of News and Politics, he will oversee special political programming in addition to being responsible for the daily production of all news shows and breaking news coverage.
Most recently, Wallace served as Vice President of News Editorial Product, a position he held since June of 2008. Having worked at FNC since its launch in 1996, when he began as a tape coordinator, he has risen through the ranks in a number of positions including: NY Bureau Chief, Producer and Executive Producer of the FOX Report with Shepard Smith, and Executive Producer of News.
