Jay Wallace Upped at FNC

By SteveK

TVNewser has obtained an internal memo from Fox News SVP of news editorial, John Moody. He announces the promotion of Jay Wallace, from EP of news to VP of news editorial.

Wallace has held his previous position since September 2006.

“If one person in the newsroom has affected the look, feel and speed of our news product in the past year, it is Jay Wallace,” writes Moody. “He not only knows news, he lives look. He recognized the need to update our sets, retool our graphics, improve our election night programming, and speed up our pace.”

If one person in the newsroom has affected the look, feel and speed of our news product in the past year, it is Jay Wallace. He not only knows news, he lives look. He recognized the need to update our sets, retool our graphics, improve our election night programming, and speed up our pace. Jay worries about our accuracy, but also about our accessibility to viewers, online visitors and listeners. He is a TV news polymath (even if he doesn’t know what that means).

Jay has become a leader at Fox. He sees where improvements are needed, understands how things get done, and fights to get us to the next level. He thinks cross-platform and on multiple levels — skills I commend to anyone hoping to get ahead in this competitive news environment.

Jay keeps us growing and thinking. For that reason, I am proud to promote him to Vice President, News Editorial.
