Fox News meteorologist Janice Dean appeared on The Kelly File Monday night to defend Ann Romney, wife of the former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, over a book Mrs. Romney has written about having multiple sclerosis. “God bless Ann Romney, and I can’t wait to read her book.”
The Romney book was the subject of a bizarre Twitter attack earlier in the day by Media Matters research fellow Oliver Willis, who questioned why Romney had written more books than other candidates’ spouses:
ann romney has *another* book coming out. has any candidate spouse who DIDN'T become flotus ever write so many books? pic.twitter.com/JRnzPmetzs

Dean, who has MS, said that when she was diagnosed with the incurable disease ten years ago, “all I wanted to do was find books from people I recognized living with the illness so I didn’t feel alone.”
Dean said “I thought my life was over, I thought my career was over.” She ultimately found support from Fox News host and fellow MS survivor Neil Cavuto.
Of Willis’ criticism of Romney writing “so many books,” Dean asked “is this a culture of mean that we are into right now?”
Willis, meanwhile, reacted to the segment on Twitter:
oh good now im getting hate mail from megyn kelly fans. well now ill have blogging material, lol
