CBS News contributor Jane Pauley will fill in for Scott Pelley on tonight’s CBS Evening News. Pauley has previously filled in as a co-host on CBS This Morning, but this is her first time anchoring the Evening News.

Pauley reunites with Evening News EP Steve Capus (right), who was her longtime colleague at NBC News. Since joining CBS in 2014, Pauley has contributed to CBS Sunday Morning with pieces ranging from interviews with Hillary Clinton and David Letterman, to a report on a group of educators who are now fighting to change gun laws.

This will also be the second time a former Today show anchor has sat in the CBS Evening News chair. Katie Couric, who was co-host of Today in the years following Pauley’s run on the NBC morning show, was anchor of the Evening News from 2006-2011.
