Jane Pauley Gets First Interview With Hillary Clinton About New Memoir

By Chris Ariens

CBS’s Jane Pauley will sit down with 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton later this week for an interview slated to air this weekend on CBS Sunday Morning.

It’ll be Clinton’s first TV interview about her new memoir which recounts her White House run. CBS says the interview will include Clinton’s “thoughts on President Donald Trump, Russian hacking, former FBI Director James Comey’s effect on the race,” and her life since election day.

Her book, What Happened, is published by Simon & Schuster, a division of CBS.

The book comes out next Tuesday, but CNN got its hands on a copy at a bookstore in Jacksonville, FL.

In a voice that swings from defiant to conciliatory to — at rare moments — deeply vulnerable, Clinton does assume ownership where the fault lines are obvious. And in overarching terms, she admits she badly misjudged the environment in which she was running and the candidate she was running against.
