Jake Tapper: ‘It Was an Unhinged and Wild Accusation’

In a contentious interview with Rudy Giuliani on CNN’s State of the Union Sunday, Jake Tapper described comments made Saturday night by Donald Trump as “wild accusations.”

Trump suggested in the speech at a rally that Hillary Clinton had not been faithful to her husband, saying “why should she?”

Tapper asked Giuliani “Is that normal, stable behavior for a presidential nominee?”

Giuliani said “I think it’s fair game,” and later described Trump’s remarks as sarcasm. But Tapper was unconvinced.

“Just to make stuff up? Just wild accusations, Hillary Clinton’s cheating on Bill. No proof of it whatsoever. And everything’s fair game?” He later said, “It was an unhinged and wild accusation.”
