CNN’s Jake Tapper is among the recipients of 2014 Congressional Medal of Honor Society Patriot Awards.
Other honorees are Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito, CBS Golf Commentator David Feherty, and actor Mark Wahlberg.
“As a convention committee, we nominated all awardees last year and are thrilled they have been approved by the Society’s board of directors for their outstanding achievements within their fields and for their commitments to the US military,” said Joe Thompson, co-chairman of the Knoxville Medal of Honor Convention Committee.
Tapper will be honored with a “Tex” McCrary Award for Excellence in Journalism, with special recognition for his book “The Outpost: An Untold Story of American Valor,” which tells the story of a deadly American battle in Afghanistan.
The awards will be handed out in September at a convention in Knoxville, Tennessee.
