On Sunday’s Reliable Sources, Celebrity Justice correspondent Jane Velez-Mitchell said she believes a lot of the biased Michael Jackson coverage could have been eliminated “if we’d only had cameras in the courtroom:”
| The whole effort to keep cameras out of the courtroom was to keep decorum, to keep this a serious proceeding. And actually, it had the opposite effect. You had all these people going on television and talking and actually engaging in wild speculation. If there had been cameras in the courtroom, the people of America would have been able to see it and judge for themselves. And I think that’s the message here. That’s the lesson to be learned. Put cameras in the courtroom. Let people decide for themselves. |
