Investigation Discovery has renewed “On the Case with Paula Zahn” for a fourth season. The program will premeire its third season November 7, with season four slated to begin in January, 2011.

The show has become ID’s highest rated original series, and its signature long-form journalism program. The network also airs repurposed segments from newsmagazines like “60 Minutes,” “48 Hours” and “Dateline.”

“’On the Case with Paula Zahn’ has been a critical foundation for the unprecedented growth and success of ID,” said Henry Schleiff, president and general manager of Investigation Discovery in a statement.  “As the network’s exclusive original long-form journalism series, ‘On the Case’ epitomizes the network’s commitment to compelling and emotional storytelling that inspires ID’s audience to look closer at the world around them.  Therefore, with great pride, I am also thrilled to announce a fourth season of ‘On the Case,’ which will launch early in 2011.”
