Internet Week’s High-Speed Connections

By Chris Ariens

If you haven’t heard, it’s Internet Week in New York City, put on by Mayor Bloomberg and the IADAS.

NYC companies, including ours, are putting on events, hosting parties and otherwise celebrating New York’s Internet community. There’s even an awards show Monday night. (We’ll be there to cover).

It’s a busy week. So busy, in fact, Page Six reports husband and wife Barry Diller and Diane von Furstenberg are throwing competing parties tonight with guest lists filled with tvnewsers.

While Diller is hosting a bash on a private roof garden overlooking Rockefeller Center to welcome new AOL boss Tim Armstrong and News Corp.’s chief digital officer Jonathan Miller to New York’s digital community, von Furstenberg will be at her downtown headquarters celebrating “Womenomics,” a new book by “Good Morning America” host Claire Shipman and the BBC’s Katty Kay. While Diller’s expecting Jeff Zucker, Jimmy Fallon, Seth Myers and Mike Ovitz, von Furstenberg is drawing Katie Couric, Charlie Gibson and Charlie Rose.
