‘Inside Edition’ Hires Transgender Correspondent Zoey Tur

By Brian Flood

Just in time for February Sweeps, “Inside Edition” has hired Zoey Tur as a special correspondent for the month. Tur underwent gender reassignment surgery and changed her name from Bob to Zoey after a successful career as a helicopter pilot. Tur’s daughter is NBC News correspondent Katy Tur, who recently relocated to NBC’s London Bureau.

Tur, who used to have the nickname “Chopper Bob,” covered major events from the air, including the O.J. Simpson chase and the L.A. riots. “We are thrilled to have Zoey join ‘Inside Edition’ as special correspondent and make some TV history,” says executive producer Charles Lachman.

“There’s diversity in nature, so why not the media? I want to thank ‘Inside Edition’ for their support in what’s shaping up to be America’s last civil rights fight,” Tur said.
