In Profile: Megyn Kelly Edition

By Alex Weprin

Today’s the day that Fox News launches its new primetime lineup, and with Megyn Kelly being the new addition, she is the subject of a number of profiles today.

  • First, she talks to the LA TimesMeg James about her plans for “The Kelly File”: “People know that they are going to get the real me when I go out there,” she said. “If somebody comes on [the show] and is a moron, I’m going to call them out. “But my goal,” Kelly added, “is to ask a provocative question. I’m just a soulless lawyer at heart who likes to ask pointed questions of both sides to get the best answer.”

  • The AP’s David Bauder also speaks to Kelly, who explains that while her show is in primetime, it will not be ideological: ‘‘I’ve never wanted to be an opinion host, and Roger Ailes hasn’t wanted me to be an opinion host,’’ she said. ‘‘I don’t think I’d be very successful anyway. I’m not an ideologue, and I think you have to be successful in a prime-time opinion-based show. I think I’m too moderate and reasonable.’’
