FBN:AM anchor Cheryl Casone is featured on the cover of Metropolitan Magazine’s summer issue. She talks about what it’s like to host a news show at 5 a.m.: “I really love hosting the first show of the day because it’s the first shot at the news. I love being first! So much news is happening right now you just never know what is happening overnight so I really like the fact that I’ve got that show and it’s just going really well! We’ve really seen our numbers grow and our ratings have moved up a lot, quite substantially in just the past year so I’m really proud of that.”

Former FBN correspondent turned-NBC News business and tech correspondent Jo Ling Kent sits down with Women in Business for a Q&A about her career path and gives advice for women who want a job in journalism: “Go for it! We need more trailblazing journalists to cover this complicated, ever-changing world. There are all kinds of ways to get into journalism and it’s never too early (or late) to jump in and start. But you have to be ready to dedicate yourself to it. Journalism is a public service with lots of sacrifices, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world.”

NBC’s Andrea Mitchell is profiled in InStyle’s August Badass Women issue. “Not many people my age are still doing what I do. But this is the most challenging time for journalists right now. I think we’re in a renaissance of hard-news reporting, and I want to see this through,” said Mitchell, who celebrates 40 years with NBC News next month.
