“In the key demographic, Fox News was #3 Tuesday night at 5pm… losing both to CNN and MSNBC. When was the last time that happened?,” an e-mailer asks.

Actually, CNN beat FNC for five hours in the 25-54 demo yesterday:

CNN: The 2 p.m. hour of Live From averaged 173,000 demo viewers, the 3 p.m. hour averaged 184,000 demo viewers, the 4 p.m. hour of The Situation Room averaged 170,000 demo viewers, the 5 p.m. hour averaged 161,000 demo viewers, and Lou Dobbs Tonight averaged 233,000 demo viewers.

FNC: The 2 p.m. hour of Fox News Live averaged 157,000 demo viewers, Studio B averaged 167,000 demo viewers, Your World averaged just 62,000 demo viewers, The Big Story averaged 110,000 demo viewers, and Special Report averaged 208,000 demo viewers.

FNC still averaged 326,000 demo viewers in total day, compared to 198,000 for CNN. In primetime, FNC averaged more than 1.5 million viewers, while CNN had less than a million.
