Lloyd Grove is shocked to learn that CNN President Jonathan Klein spent last week on vacation in Nantucket “while his network was down in the muck covering Hurricane Katrina.”
A CNN spokeswoman says: “Coverage plans for the hurricane were set before he left, and Jon was in constant contact with his deputies and CNN the entire time. His children certainly didn’t see it as a vacation. Of all the stories emanating from Katrina, this is the biggest nonstory.”
