Huma Abedin, a former aide to Hillary Clinton, is joining MSNBC as a contributor.
Abedin was on MSNBC’s Morning Joe this morning to talk about her role as the vice chair of the Forbe’s 30/50 International Women’s Day Summit in Abu Dhabi in March, when Mika Brzezinski announced the news.
Abedin’s political career has been in the limelight due to her ties to the former First Lady and former New York congressman Anthony Weiner.
She served as vice chairperson for Hilary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign and was Clinton’s personal assistant.
In 2015, Abedin became part of the controversial FBI investigation surrounding Hillary Clinton’s private email account, as potentially classified information was contained in e-mails she had sent relating to the 2012 Benghazi attack and its aftermath.
Abedin and Weiner were married in 2010 but separated in 2016 after new sexting allegations were made against him.
