HuffPost’s New CEO Comes From New, Old Media

The NYTimes‘ Bill Carter reports Betsy Morgan is leaving her job as the general manager of CBSNews.com to become the CEO of The Huffington Post. Carter writes, “Ms. Morgan will switch from running the Web site for a prominent traditional media organization to running a news Web site that is just over two years old.”

Kenneth Lerer who has been HuffPost’s acting CEO and now becomes chairman, told Carter the goal of the site is to “do for Internet news what CNN did for TV news.”
