Howard Stern Denies Calling Donald Trump Over Megyn Kelly Interview

In the heated atmosphere between Fox News and Donald Trump following the Fox News Republican presidential debate, one report suggested Trump’s anger at Fox–and debate co-moderator Megyn Kelly in particular–was intensified after a phone call from radio host Howard Stern.

Writing in New York Magazine, Gabriel Sherman cites “a person familiar with the call” who claimed “Trump’s ire was especially stoked after Howard Stern called to tell him about a 2010 interview in which Kelly joked about her breasts and her husband’s penis.”

On his Sirius XM radio show last week, Stern said that call never happened. “I’d offer (Sherman) a million dollars if he could prove that this is true, because it’s not true.”

On the show, a recording of which was obtained by TV Newser, Stern says he did receive a call from Trump “a couple of weeks ago,” but that was before the debate, and not after. And Trump said on air that Megyn Kelly never came up. “I thought Megyn Kelly was a total lady when she was here,” Stern said. “Yeah, I asked her about her bra size. Big deal. There’s no smoking gun there. Again, I don’t know who these people are that write these articles.”

Stern said he brought up the article because he was bothered by the suggestion he would call Trump to tip him about one of his guests. “I’d like to know your source on that, because I challenge it. Not because I care so much, but I want Megyn Kelly to know that I don’t pick up the phone and call and say, ‘man, I got something for you.’ I don’t do that.”
