How to Get Your Boss to Pay for Your Trip to the Super Bowl

By Chris Ariens

If you were watching the end of Daytona 500 coverage on Fox, medal round luge competition on NBC or even pre-NBA All Star Game coverage on TNT last night, then you missed Andy Rooney’s segment on “60 Minutes.” Rooney, recounted his trip to Ft. Lauderdale last weekend to catch the Super Bowl — something he’s been doing for 40 years.

The kicker: he expensed the $2,000 tab. “I had a great time, though, and it was worth every nickel of it, because by doing this lame piece about the game, I can put it on my expense account,” said Rooney.

But considering it was the most watched TV program ever, we’re pretty sure his boss, CBS News & Sports president Sean McManus will will have no problem signing that expense report.
