How Maria Bartiromo Became the Subject of a Joey Ramone Song

Appearing on “Shepard Smith Reporting” this week, Maria Bartiromo told the story of how she struck up a friendship with Joey Ramone that resulted in him writing a song, the aptly-titled “Maria Bartiromo,” about her.

“He used to email me all the time and he used to say, ‘Maria, what do you think about AOL? What do you think about Amazon?’ I didn’t realize it was the real Joey Ramone. I was answering him back, he was a viewer, I was giving him my take on things. And he called me one day and said, ‘Maria, I want you to come down to CBGB’s. I wrote a song about you,'” Bartiromo recalled “…Most people don’t know what a savvy investor Joey Ramone was.” Watch (at about the 4:20 mark):
