How Dana Bash Nabbed First ‘Interview’ with Gen. Petraeus

By kevin

CNN’s Dana Bash was the first reporter to speak with General David Patraeus since the president’s announcement that he would replace General Stanley McChrystal in Aghanistan. The congressional correspondent had a just-over-a-minute-long conversation with Petraeus this morning in a hallway at the Capitol. (Audio and story here.) TVNewser hears Bash happened to be at the building when she spotted security guards that generally only show up when a dignitary or important figure is stopping in. After figuring out who was about to arrive, Bash grabbed a producer and staked out the General as he was on his way to a meeting with Senator Robert Byrd.

Previous: Bash also once cornered a very unhappy Senator Jim Bunning in a congressional elevator.
