HLN is beefing up its programming team. Bryan Bell is leaving CNN to become HLN’s senior director of programming, effective Monday, March 6. Bell, a 17-year veteran of CNN, will remain in Atlanta and report to HLN vp Stephanie Todd.
Below is the internal memo Todd sent out to staff this past Friday:
In his new role, Bell will have day-to-day editorial oversight of HLN’s dayside and weekend programming, lead planning and newsgathering and collaborate with Todd on production of specials, events and sponsored programming. He most recently served as Weekend Programming Manager at CNN. Prior to that, he was the Executive Producer of CNN’s “Newsroom with Carol Costello” and CNN’s “Daybreak.”
