Hillary Clinton’s Mother Was ‘A Big Fox Viewer’

After 15 months of asking, Chris Wallace got his sit-down interview with Hillary Clinton for Fox News Sunday this morning. It was Clinton’s first since winning the democratic nomination for president. One of the more revealing pieces of information came when Clinton mentioned that her mother Dorothy, who died in 2011, was a fan of Fox News.

Clinton: She was a big Fox viewer.

Wallace: Really?

Clinton: Yes, she was.

Wallace: Why didn’t you take that from her?

Clinton: Well, I once said — and she would get upset — I’ll be honest, she would get upset when people would say terrible things about me. That was when I was a senator running for president and for the first two years as secretary of state. I would say, ‘well, mom, if it upsets you so much, why do you keep watching?’ She said ‘I like some of the people and I have to know what the other ones are saying so I can understand and be against it.’ So I think she had a very strategic reason for watching.”
