Here’s What Cable News Has in Store for July 4

President Trump is throwing a Fourth of July celebration on Thursday at the National Mall, undoubtedly hoping it will be televised by the TV news outlets.

Fox News and C-SPAN will indeed televise the celebration. FNC will cover the event during a two-hour edition of Special Report anchored by Mike Emanuel from 6 – 8 p.m. ET.

C-SPAN will air the president’s remarks live from the Lincoln Memorial at 6:15 p.m. ET.

MSNBC, on the other hand, has said it is not planning to air the 4th of July presentation live, but will assess in real-time whether or not to air clips. Additionally, MSNBC will re-air both nights of the first Democratic primary debate on July 4th. It will air the first night from 7-9 p.m., and the second night from 9 – 11 p.m. ET.

CNN has not announced whether or not it will air any portions of the event.

The president’s appearance and portions of the parade will air on ABC’s streaming channel, ABC News Live, while the network will also provide a feed of the event that may be used by local stations. The CBS streaming news service, CBSN, is also carrying the July 4th event at the National Mall, as was first reported by Politico.

In addition to broadcasting Trump’s event, FNC’s annual #ProudAmerican program will be hosted by Fox Nation’s travel and lifestyle host Abby Hornacek and FNC personality Anna Kooiman, starting today and continuing through the holiday.

With live programming beginning at 4 a.m. ET and July 4th at 5 a.m. ET, FNC will offer special live shots and packages commemorating Independence Day during Fox & Friends First.

On location in Charleston, SC, Kooiman will report live from the USS Yorktown and the Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum. Additional contributions and weather reports will be made by FNC’s chief meteorologist Rick Reichmuth. During the special broadcast, both Kooiman and Reichmuth will be joined by a Folds of Honor family to discuss the organization which provides educational scholarships to families of fallen and disabled service members.

Additionally, broadcasting from San Diego, Hornacek will present special live coverage from the Marine Corps Recruit Depot to take viewers along for a tour of the base and Command Museum. She will also tour the USS Midway Museum in the downtown Gaslamp Quarter.

On Thursday, FNC will present #ProudAmerican themed programming throughout daytime and primetime with special editions of:

  • The Five (5 p.m.)-  featuring a July 4th edition of Jesse Watters’ Supermarket Showdown and Tom Shillue’ s Patriotic News Quiz.
  • Tucker’s Case for a Fairer America  (8 p.m. ET)- Tucker Carlson focuses on America’s families, featuring some of his most memorable commentaries.
  • Hannity July 4th Special (9 p.m. ET)- The special will feature some of Hannity’s signature monologues from the past few weeks and incorporate his take on America’s greatness, President Trump’s 2020 kickoff rally and the field of 2020 Democratic candidates.
  • Ingraham Angle Special: For God and Country (10 p.m.)- Laura Ingraham presents a special patriotic version of the program where she will highlight some of her monologues and segments that highlight the greatness of America.
