With the new-look Sunday Today show debuting a week from Sunday, NBC News has released the first promo for the show. Hosted by Willie Geist, Sunday Today promises to deliver “sharp conversations” and “profiles of the people and ideas shaping our culture.”
NBC is aiming to bring the Sunday edition of Today in line with other Sunday morning news programs, including the politics-focused public affairs shows and the long-running and long-dominant CBS Sunday Morning. Geist’s father Bill Geist is a correspondent on that show.
Geist has been very involved in the planning of the new-look Sunday Today which will continue to originate from Studio 1A. He’ll still contribute to MSNBC’s Morning Joe, and continue with his weekday Today show commitments.
