Hannity Named Radio Personality Of The Year

Sean Hannity has won the Marconi award, as best syndicated national radio personality. This is the second time the ABC Radio/Fox News Channel host has won the NAB award. The first was in 2003.

“To now have two Marconis is even more than a dream come true,” said Hannity. “I want to thank all the members of my team that work so hard everyday, to make this show as good as it can be.”

This is Hannity’s 10th year on the air. His radio show has been syndicated nationally since 1998.

SEAN HANNITY WINS 2007 MARCONI AWARD

New York, NY – September 28, 2007 — ABC Radio Network’s Sean Hannity has won his second Marconi award, as best syndicated national radio personality from the National Association of Broadcasters. Sean won the award before in 2003 and has now won it again in 2007. Sean first joined WABC as a talk show host in January 1997 and a year later in January 1998 he moved into the coveted PM drive slot. His show was syndicated nationally by the ABC Radio Network on September 10th,2001, the day before 9-11.

Sean quickly became the fastest growing syndicated talk show rollout in modern history and today is heard on 525 radio stations and over 14 million listeners. Sean continues to broadcast his national show from the studios of WABC in New York City.

“It is a great honor for me to receive this award from the NAB,” said Hannity.

“To now have two Marconi’s is even more than a dream come true. I want to thank all the members of my team that work so hard everyday, to make this show as good as it can be.” Hannity was in Charlotte for the NAB awards ceremony to personally pick up his award.

“It has been a great run for Sean, who has now worked for ABC for over 10 years,” said Citadel Broadcasting VP of News/Talk Programming Phil Boyce, who is also program director of WABC. “Sean wakes up every morning with a show screaming to get off his chest. That fire and passion has never wavered and that is why he is even better today than when he first started.”

Sean is also host of the nightly “Hannity and Colmes” program on the Fox News Channel. Citadel Broadcasting purchased ABC Radio and the ABC Radio Networks in June of this year.
