Guff Takes Leave, Han Upped At ABC News

By SteveK

Jessica Guff, EP of ABC News Now, is taking a leave from the network beginning Monday to spend time with her family. Nancy Han (pictured), EP of early morning news content, takes over at the network’s broadband channel. A rotation of senior producers will oversee overnights for now.

TVNewser obtained a memo from ABC News president David Westin announcing the changes:

I want to update you about some changes at ABC News NOW and on the Overnight News. Jessica Guff, who has been executive producer of News NOW for the last year, will be taking a leave from ABC News to spend time with her family. We fully expect Jessica to return in another capacity in the new year. During her time at ABC News NOW, Jessica launched the third digital hour of “Good Morning America” and successfully refocused much of ABC News NOW’s content. News NOW has grown to 44 million users across broadband, cable, and mobile platforms, up from approximately 30 million this time last year.

I’m pleased to tell you that Nancy Han will become the new executive producer of ABC News NOW. Nancy has done an excellent job as executive producer of our Early Morning News Content, and our two early morning broadcasts, “World News Now” and “America This Morning.” Nancy begins her new job on Monday and we will be calling upon a number of seniors to helm the overnight in the interim.

Please join me in congratulating Nancy on this new assignment and wishing Jessica the very best.
