Anchoring breaking news coverage this afternoon on the developments from France, FNC’s Shepard Smith included New York Times London Bureau Chief Steven Erlanger among his guests. Erlanger got on Shep’s nerves from the start.
Said Erlanger: “We need to be careful in the moments after something…,” Shep jumped in with: “You don’t have to tell me that.”
It de-escalated from there: “You said we need to be careful. On what matter did you think we were not careful?” Shep asked his guest.”Frankly, I’ve not been listening… to you… no, no I’m not getting in a fight with you,” said Erlanger, adding, “Either you’re going to let me talk or you’re not.”
